Favicon Generator — Free Online Tool
Drop any image, get a full multi-size favicon pack ready for every browser.
Your image is processed entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.
How to Use the Favicon Generator
The favicon generator is engineered for speed — most users get to a clean answer in under ten seconds. Here's the three-step workflow:
-
Step 1
Upload a square source image — ideally PNG or SVG, at least 256×256 pixels. Non-square images are auto-cropped to center.
-
Step 2
Preview appears instantly with all the important sizes rendered side-by-side: 16, 32, 48, 180 (Apple Touch), 192 (Android), and 512 (PWA).
-
Step 3
Click Download all to save each size as a PNG. Copy the
<head>snippet and paste it into your site.
Benefits of Using Our Favicon Generator
Not every online web tools tool respects your time. This one does. Here's what you get when you choose BizNY:
- Runs entirely in your browser via the Canvas API — your logo never touches our servers.
- Generates every modern favicon size: 16, 32, 48, 180 (Apple Touch Icon), 192 (Android home screen), 512 (PWA splash).
- Auto-crops non-square source images to a centered square — one less prep step.
- Copy-ready HTML snippet for your
<head>, covering iOS, Android, desktop browsers, and PWAs. - Supports PNG, JPG, and SVG input — any transparent background is preserved.
- Free, with no watermark and no "premium tier" gate.
The Growing Popularity of the Favicon Generator
Generating a correct multi-size favicon pack is deceptively fiddly — modern sites need at least 5 different image sizes and the correct <link> markup for each platform. The favicon generator is in constant use by designers and freelance developers launching new sites, and by marketers updating brand refreshes. Browser-based generators like ours have become the preferred alternative to heavier image-editor workflows: you drop a logo in, get every size out, and copy the snippet. No Photoshop, no batch export, no upload.
Who uses the favicon generator?
- Web designers finishing a new site before launch
- Brand teams pushing a logo update across web properties
- Bootstrapped founders launching a landing page with proper polish
- Developers shipping PWAs that need 192 & 512 icons
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the favicon generator — if you have something else, drop us an email at support@bizny.co.
Why so many sizes?
16×16 and 32×32 are classic browser favicons. 48×48 is used by Windows site tiles. 180×180 is the Apple Touch Icon (iOS home screen). 192×192 and 512×512 are for Android and PWAs. Covering all of them ensures your icon looks sharp everywhere.
Can I upload a non-square image?
Yes. The tool center-crops to a square automatically before scaling. If your logo is wide, consider cropping first to preserve all of it.
Does this create a .ico file?
Browser canvas exports are PNG. For a true .ico file containing multiple resolutions, use our ICO Converter after generating the 32×32 and 48×48 PNGs.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. All processing happens in your browser via the Canvas API. The image never leaves your device.
Why doesn't my favicon show up after uploading?
Browsers aggressively cache favicons. Hard-refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R) and try again. Also verify the file paths in your <head> snippet match where you uploaded them.
